  • Diagnosed or suspected Vitamin B12 deficiency

A Clinical Service for Patients with B12 Deficiency

Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that the body cannot produce on its own. It plays a critical role in the production of red blood cells, the maintenance of healthy nerve cells, and DNA synthesis. A deficiency can have a significant impact on energy levels, neurological function, and overall health.

Our Vitamin B12 injection service is designed specifically for patients who have been diagnosed with a deficiency, or who have been assessed by their GP and are clinically suspected to be deficient. It is not a lifestyle supplement or general wellness treatment.

Injections deliver B12 directly into the muscle, bypassing the digestive system and making them particularly effective for patients whose deficiency is caused by malabsorption, such as those with pernicious anaemia or conditions affecting the gut.

Before your appointment, you will need to provide evidence from your GP confirming your diagnosis or clinical assessment. This is a requirement of our service and cannot be waived. If you do not have this documentation, please speak to your GP in the first instance.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. This service is for patients with a diagnosed or clinically suspected B12 deficiency only. You must bring evidence from your GP to your appointment. If you have symptoms of deficiency but have not yet been assessed, please see your GP for a blood test in the first instance. We are unable to make exceptions to this requirement.
We accept a blood test result showing low B12 levels, a GP letter confirming your diagnosis or clinical suspicion of B12 deficiency, or a repeat prescription for B12 injections from your GP. A verbal summary or a summary from an online health app is not sufficient.
The Vitamin B12 injection is administered into the muscle of the shoulder. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is generally well tolerated.
The frequency will be tailored to your individual clinical needs following your consultation. For patients with a confirmed deficiency, many start with weekly injections before moving to monthly maintenance doses. Your clinician will advise you at your appointment.
You do not need to arrange a blood test specifically for us, but you must bring existing evidence from your GP of a diagnosed or suspected deficiency. If your GP has already carried out a blood test showing low B12 levels, that result is sufficient.
The risk is minimal. We use a licensed UK medicine that has been safely administered for decades. B12 is water-soluble, meaning any excess is excreted naturally. All injections are administered by trained members of our clinical team.
Unfortunately we will be unable to proceed with your appointment if you do not bring acceptable GP evidence. A cancellation fee may apply. Please ensure you have your documentation ready before attending.
